About Us

How did I get here?  I started in Houston, Texas, in a tough neighborhood called the fifth ward. The neighborhood was rough, but it was also filled with hardworking people who still grew and made wonderful foods that they ate and sold. My neighbors picked figs, tomatoes, pears, and apples. They sold pies, preserves, and sauces.

I still remember walking in my grandfathers makeshift “hood” garden with a salt shaker looking for the ripest tomato to eat on the spot. College gave me an opportunity to work for a global company which allowed me to travel all over the world. I found that the world was a small place indeed. People everywhere loved foods made personally. I went on to study to become a chef, and my love for food turned to wine . Visiting Alsace I had my first great wine ,  a pinot gris by Zind Humbrecht . I remember telling my wife that I could still taste the wine after we had left the  shop. It was my first experience with “finish”. While working at a winery washing down crushers and sorting grapes until the purple stained your hands for weeks, I learned a great deal from some of the best winemakers in Napa..

So here I am with my first vintage. The fruit comes from some of the best vineyards in Napa.. From folks who understand that wherever you are from ,the best things in life come from doing what you love. And enjoying it!
